²⁵ Then they sat down to eat. When they looked up, they saw a group of Ishmaelites coming from Gilead. They were taking spices and perfumes on their camels to Egypt. ²⁶ Judah said to his brothers, “What do we get by killing our brother and covering his blood? ²⁷ Come, let us sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him. For he is our brother, our own flesh.” And his brothers listened to him.
